What to consider?

• Conduct yourself in a manner that does not expose yourself or others to undue risk of infection.
• Take into account the general recommendations on hygiene and wearing a medical mask, especially indoors, on public transport and in crowded situations, on your own responsibility and as appropriate to the situation.
• Exercise particular caution in personal encounters with people for whom there is an increased risk of severe disease progression in the event of infection with the coronavirus (recommendation: precautionary testing!).
• For private gatherings, consider space constraints and take appropriate hygiene measures to protect participants.
• Ensure adequate and regular ventilation in enclosed spaces.
• If possible, avoid personal encounters with members of other households during acute respiratory symptoms until the cause is determined.
• If you live in a household with a person infected with coronavirus or are another close contact person of infected persons, reduce personal encounters with members of other households for a period of at least five days, especially if you do not have sufficient immune status due to vaccination or recovery (recommendation: daily testing!).

Due to the Infection Protection Act of the Federal Government (§ 28b IfSG), there is only

• FFP2 mask obligation for visitors in (dental) doctors' practices, psychotherapeutic practices, practices of all other medical professions, facilities for outpatient surgery, dialysis facilities, day clinics, rescue services.
• FFP2 mask requirement for visitors to hospitals and full and partial inpatient care facilities and comparable facilities.

Persons who cannot wear a medical mask due to a health impairment or disability must prove this to the authorities by presenting a medical certificate. If the certificate refers to FFP2 masks, a surgical mask must be worn.

There is no longer a testing requirement.

Termination of citizen testing:

As of March 1, 2023, there are no longer any options for free citizen testing. If testing options continue to exist, they will be subject to a charge.

Because as of March 1, 2023, the federal government will no longer cover the costs of corona tests. This has been regulated by the Federal Ministry of Health in the new corona virus test regulation.

The most important at a glance:

As of November 23, 2022, there is no longer a requirement to self isolate following a positive test result for Corona virus infection.

For five days after the day of the positive test result, there is an obligation to wear a mouth-nose protection or a respiratory mask outside one's own household, in closed rooms and outdoors, if a distance of 1.5 meters to other persons cannot be maintained. A mask does not have to be worn if there is contact exclusively with members of one's own household or with other persons who have been proven to test positive. Children under six years of age and persons who cannot wear a mask for health reasons or to communicate with other persons are exempt from this mask requirement.

The mask requirement begins at the time of the first positive test for Corona virus infection, regardless of the type of test. It ends at the end of the fifth day following the date of the first positive test. It is recommended that a mask be worn beyond the mandatory five days until symptom free for 48 hours.

When symptoms of the disease appear, voluntary self-isolation is strongly recommended until five days after the day of the positive test. Self-isolation should be terminated only after 48 hours of symptom freedom, at the latest ten days after the first positive test.

Health care and nursing facilities, such as hospitals, and facilities housing large numbers of people, such as correctional and juvenile detention facilities, are prohibited from operating or entering for five days after the day of a positive test for Corona virus to protect the people there.

It is recommended that within ten days of the day of the positive test, no activity should be resumed or the facility re-entered until symptom-free for 48 hours.
